We made an album in 2006/7 or so. We printed 1000 copies and sold some through cd baby. We still get small bits from digital distribution. It probably cost us near 10K for all the artwork, cd printing, recording, promotional stuff, etc. And lots of labor hours. Of course it was all for the love, but it's interesting to look back at the numbers. It's clear to us the future of making money through music is not in the sales of copies.
